German Assistance has Long insight !!


Most of Pakistanis has never been to Germany but every Pakistani is aware of Germany as a country, they Know that Germany means intelligence, innovation,technological supremacy and intellectual excellence and World Wars & Hitler !!! they know that Siemens and Volkswagen are German so is Mercedes !!
Pakistan's relations with Germany remain cordial since its birth but its first time that German government and people has felt the pain & suffering from a matchless trauma in the aftermath of chain of disasters caused by worst floods in the recent history of country, region and world. The pain of fellow human being have struck the world in awe , Germans are no exception it has so much moved every strata of society that even school children has given their pocket monies to help Pakistanis, this was stated by German Ambassador to Pakistan His Excellency Dr. MICHEAL Koch. along with his First Secretary Dr. Thomas Ditt, at press briefing arranged at German embassy on 24th of September although brief started at least 40 minutes past scheduled time but no felt that in the cosy environment of Embassy .
He stated that Germany is 3rd or 4th largest donor among all international community member to the flood affected Pakistanis, GERMAN people has contributed about 161million Euros(about 17.2 PKRs) among them , this is result of a country wide campaign among people, NGOs, German companies and common people of Germany for their fellow human being suffering , we must appreciate the gesture of people and Federal Government of Germany, which has contributed 35 Million Euros ( 3.75 billion Pk r) , these funds were arranged by German foreign Ministry and Ministry of economic & development, these funds are being utilised by various NGOs and United Nation’s humanitarian organizations in Pakistan .
Further more German defence forces as a part of NATO are already contributing to the NATO air bridge, German forces also contributed in kind donations worth 3MILLION Euros. Few Prime time Tv channels ran special transmissions to collect donations for collections of funds and German chancellor her self grace the show and made appeal to public and Pakistan's Prime Minster sent his message, documentaries were run during prime time broad casting !
Germany is contributing 20 percent share in Aid given by European Union and has sizeable contribution in UN aid share too!!
on that occasion a “ Water filtration plant” device was shown to journalists, which was roughly about the size of a small water coolers but made of steel body and about 4 feet high ,cubical shape structure which can be easily carried out by one man on his shoulders from one place to another its called a “Water Rug” , device is sufficient to give purified water for the need of 200-400 people daily, it is developed by a German university students and is very useful device if made locally it can be very cheap in Germany it costs about 700 Euros, which is a very big amount by Pakistani status, any way its technological base was not clearly briefed but at present some 23 of such portable filters are available which will be installed in Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa areas affected by floods.
Germany has long insight and interest in uplifting badly damaged economy of Pakistan , they had clear idea of damage to human being and infra structure of Pakistan and losses we have suffered and realise long road of recovery after damages, because flood is still damaging rural Sindh while this briefing took place, they want to help Pakistan through various means along with helping Pakistan getting access to markets of EU & Germany for this purpose a high class German delegation will visit Pakistan soon.
We as journalist community expressed our appreciation what Germany was doing to help ailing nation and further assistance in coming days for recovery of our crippled economy not only from floods but due to many adverse factors, Germans are very creative and an intelligent nation, they have proven them self time and again just after world war II whole Germany was wrecked but they took no time to recover and we should follow their example and make commitment to our land following their spirits. We hope that this friend ship will further augment and forge a strong bond between both nations. Briefing ended after 30 minutes and after that some questions were asked by local journalists regarding Aid and it distribution system, access of Pakistani manufacturers to European markets and future relations between two nations, to which the Ambassador gave very calculated and careful answers, it was mutually ended on a cordial note around 11.20 Am .

“Health Hazards after Floods and Epidemic of Post Traumatic Stress disorders”

Pakistan has been constantly in the eye of storm since beginning of new millennium, apart from recent on going tragedy country is in suffering of Terrorism, political upheaval, man made and natural disasters one after an other, in 2005 we suffered from a huge disaster in the shape of Earth quack in northern Pakistan, than continuous wave of terrorism in northern areas of Pakistan army actions, constant infighting, target killing in financial capital and now the worst disaster of its kind in modern history of world, it many times more than Tsunami of 2004, Haiti's disaster last year and our earth quack combine, its magnitude is almost whole Pakistan along the banks of Indus and associated river system, right from Northern areas of Pakistan to plains of Pun jab and Sindh and Baluchistan, it has cause enormous damage of land, infrastructure, crops, homes and persons, at least 20 million houses damaged country wide, thousands of villages , towns and small cities, including many medium size cities are inundated by flood waters, huge tracts of land are turned in to lakes and oceans, water is still standing over them , crops worth many billion just burnt by flooding waters, huge amount of stored rice, wheat and other commodities , damaged, people has to leave in emergency they left behind their every thing except what they were wearing , many cities were repeatedly ordered to vacate with in hours, some times Government announced to vacate city, town or a village in an hour or two, at odd times of night, after that people who were sleeping peace fully have to arrange transport and leave their home fully furnish at the mercy of god and government but no one pities upon them, its huge humanitarian, Health, economic and financial crises of its kind which our country is going through!!!!
At least 20 millions are directly affected but an other 40 to 60 million is indirectly affected by this tragedy, every one in to fourth Pakistani is directly sufferer but in my opinion every second is sufferer in Pakistan , we who are not affected they have their friend, relatives and associates in the areas , many people working in other cities and towns have their ancestral houses and families living in these areas, they have suffered by these news, people are living in the areas inundated with flood waters around them, on the roofs or small ridges of lands or small elevations in the areas with water around them, that water is become stale, diseases, with dead animals and insects in that water there is no way to irrigate that back to some drainage system. People living in camps are in other kind of social, psychological and financial problems , there are emerging epidemics of many communicable disease, gastro enteritis, conjunctivitis, hepatitis of various types in affected areas, more ever Psychological disorders are started emerging among sufferers and workers in camps and areas of direct involvement.
In 2005 I have seen many suffering from POST TRAUMATIC STRESS Disorders(PTSD), like I was runing a hospital voluntarily in Mansehras affected area for one month when I come back in November 2005 to my home , I was feeling shocks every time , whole day till I sleep for at least one month post return!!! we attended many training programs delivered by international teams of Dr s from America, France etc about diagnosing and treating PTSD , this time disaster is multi fold, there is less causalities but suffering is much much more, people has suffered the wait , anticipation, sudden evacuations , loss of what ever they had in the matters of few hours, many towns and cities in Sindh were badly managed some times cities were ordered to vacate twice or thrice in the matter of two weeks, some time pain and frustration were lingered for weeks like water is coming or not,millions left homes and abodes when water reached and drowned what ever they had they had to save lives only in emergency with women folk and infants or small children this huge saga has very worst out come and impacts on ordinary human psyche, its impact is worst on children, old and women but every one is labile when disaster is paramount.
We were trained by American team of Dr s from Massachusetts who worked in Katrina a year before 2005's earth quack in Northern Pakistan. They assessed every third or fourth person in Katrina area was suffering from PTSD in US of A !!
We experienced this, just by working in the area, many of Pakistanis who were watching this whole thing on TV sets, got affected by this severely debilitating psychological disorder, if not identified and combated timely by Psychological counselling and or medically by skilled Psychologists/ Psychiatrists or any Dr trained for purpose, it can be disabling for individuals and communities en block.........!!!
Areas of Khyber Pakhtoon khwa, Pun jab, Baluchistan and Sindh (almost 2/3rd of Sindh is under water or encircled by water). And people who were living in those areas have long road to suffer and governments , NGOs, helping Nations, united nations working organisations who are working in those areas should be able to recognise this menace at the earliest other wise this can cripple this Nation for decades to come.
All the agencies working in Flooded areas or catering health care management, should send Doctors trained in managing Psychological disorders or should give them a day or two's crash program to recognise & manage the Acute Post traumatic Stress disorders, this is as important as providing clean water, combating epidemics of bacterial, fungal, viral and parasitic diseases or their vaccination rather more important than all of these problems combined!!!!
I was thinking in terms of this that government will remember and realise this problem at the earliest but till now what I have perceived that whole emphasis of Governmental and non governmental organizations is on other things which are necessary too but it is wise to prevent disease than to treat disease, sprays for Malaria prevention, clean water supply, treatment and prevention of infectious diseases is also a must but treatment and diagnosis of PTSD is also a vital thing to do in camps , hospitals, clinics working in the areas, at least one Dr per health clinic or camp or in regional hospitals should be able to recognise and treat PTSD....when your brain is sick , your environment gets Gray !!!!! healthy mind is first prerequisite for road to recovery, re organization and rehabilitation of not only affected areas but this whole nation is needed......!!

Brace your self for ringing bells of change and heavy boots at door steps of Parliament, than every thing will settle down at its place, judiciary will award them legitimacy of action, as usual, if not they will also be shown door for being a party against various governments, Media will start praising their bravery as usual, as we have seen in past, or they will be banned on one pretext or other, Politicians are weakest link in the string they are proven extremely corrupt by their track records, in all scams our known politicians are involved or their links suspected, they fail to under stand in past three years that whole nation suffered for democracy in long long dictatorial rules, they should have curb their greed but only those are fair in this nation who did not get any chances, once given they are as naked as new born !!!! Government is blamed for being inefficient and extremely corrupt ! From day one they gave every reason to quarters scaning democracy to prove them ineffcient, from restoring of judges, to inumerable financial scams against almost all Minsters and their coteries is order of day, it seems they do nothing except miniting illegal money, they are not concerned with evry day price hikes, rather they were instrumental in sugar , oil and floar price manvuoring , they fail to express sincerity in solving problems rather they tried to take advantage of situation by making heavy and doubful options to mint money , power crises they inherited and was hugely promised to solve in one year but problem's solution offered by an honorable No water, No Power minster was ridiculous and extremely unfair to already debit ridden nation , motive behind that move was as clear as day light ….they failed to see huge local coal reservoirs, they will leave with huge volumes of stories behind them but are the politicians only corrupt elemnt in society....!!!
We all are equally corrupt may it be beaurocracy of any kind, NGOs, traders and all other strata of society only those remain honest who didnt get hands on some thing, Our society is out right corrupt and that corruption is not only in money matters but at every aspect of social life, We misuse our powers, we are extremely biased religiously, ethnically and with pseudo insights all of us are doing one thing that is destroying this country....!!
Coming to my original point back , we have most corrupt system of judiciary at lower levels , we hoped that with change in upper judiciary and its loyality to change system, what we are witnessing as common citizen that judges on a ego trip after their restoration, there is no change in system of judiciary at grass root levels, a common man is insulted, grinded and squeezed by this very same judicial system at Tehsil, district and all levels of Justice, our most corrupt institution is Police and lower judiciary, where cases are sold rather decided on the basis of law and rules written in the books of law, all higher court judges are well versed with problem people face at lower courts and they them selves were promoted from a lower court gradually to higher courts, all respectable judges have experience of being a Lawyers except few they how a common man pays to their Peons, readers and other contacts to get Dates and decisions............And what change they have brought in that system in past 5 years of revolution they are creating, from the day of restoration to this dates they have tried to paralyse adminstration due to their faults but is that the solution ! What will happen when an other Martial Law is imposed due to their Egoist stands against Adminstration , end result is clear every one is playing at the hands of those forces which never wanted civilians to rules...!! they always started campaigns against democratic governments from day one and all parties consiously or unconsiously playing at their hands...!!!
Third party in this game is media, We are having a very insane and rabid media , who is unable to handle their newly found Liberty of expression, since last decade Pakistani public has seen witnessed a huge & mushrooming growth of news channels, we are 70% illetrate Nation but evry one among is a honrary PHD in Political Science may it be a Pakora vendor in Hala's Shahi Bazaar or a so called Dr so & so sitting in a cosy Tv channel show or a ever changing stance as a chief editor of a largest circulating new paper of a BIG group of publication every one wants to run geovernment according to their views, the Pakora seller of Hala or a clerk in primary school and 50 plus news channel anchors most of them paid for their propaganda views and rabid attitude on their programs are responsible for Death of democracy in this country , amny of those salheen are enjoying illegal percks due to their backmailling qualities, they remain in close cercles of governments and heads of states, they purchase clothes from highest designer shops and except plots and percks from govrnments of the day, they portray as most honest persons of the nation but they are all equally black inside, do not want name any one , govrnment records are their how many of them got plots from variuos governments in Past 40 years of their honest and un blamished career of journalism, how many of them are on pay roll of one or other agency or party or group, there are very big names who want to change the mood of listners and fabricate their attitudes towards government of the day by their columns or by vomiting poison on their tv shows.....!! if democracy derails they should also be equally accountable for derailing this very poor nation back to square one, some of them will get minster's port folio others will get plots or get allotted huge houses in the names of their spouses or immidiate family members or any other bribe as “Bakhsish” for job well done....but they should also think at their role in democracy's failure in this country......!!!
Opposition parties and Parties in coalition of this government are either right fully or silently responsible for imminent down fall of this government , some of them are in parliament others on streets they never won enough seats to make achange but they always found a chance when a uniformed person is in power , they are also responsible for democracy's fall often because they are the people who got their chances when democratic forces are booted out, our religious parties remain in power most of the time as most of time this country was under the rule of a uniformed crusader...!!
The largest coalition and friendly opposition and ruling party in largest province is also dragging nation towards Martial Law, although their leadr is expressing his views for in house change but he knows very well that time for in house change is fastly runing out of hands and their anticipated turn of ruling is also runing away very fast, world is changed almost at 360 degrees than was in 90s, in nintees they got two turns each but this time they may not get that chance too, because this time we are already in severe men made and natural crises, beside that in their own party , there are many with fake degrees, many of their parlaimetarians are involved in corruption, credit card theft and they are not totally free from corrupt allegations, if their chief Minster reaches every where at Rickshaw, cycles, Ching Chee it may give political mileage and Personal photo shoot opportunity for their CM but many see as media stunts because where ever he goes he is followed by TV cameras on vehicles while Super CM is trying to reach on Cycles and TONGAs !!!!
MIAN Sb may be sincere with Democracy and a politics of tolerance and have a changed vision but many have doubts in minds, as their own past record is extremely doubtfull in terms of financial corruption, tax returns , Ego problems and their wrestling with Judiciary, Civil and Military Managers of country..what they did with a finest chief justice of Pakistan is not in a distance past !! how they pay for their personal publicity and media image is also not hidden from any one...!!
Same is with self exiled Leader of an ethnic party trying very hard to prove itself and political and national force but right from their birth todate they are a autocratic and strictly fascist organization, they have failed to create impression on me and many others who know their real face, they were fabricated by agencies and is strictly a non democractic organization, how people are forced to vote for them is known to evry citizen of our financial capital,How they back mail their coalition partners and severe ties with them if their demands are not fulfilled, how they summon people to attend their function is known to all, have you seen such an organised public meetings where minsters. Party leaders and public sit as statues in front of telephone sets for hours in an strict like Primary school children or like an army cadets sitting in a well disciplined class room !!! the call for revolution to a nation devastated by huge catastrophe , illiterate, leader less and rudderless was as a huge farce and many know true meaning of that call, they plundered the whole budget od Sindh for ten years , not spend or allow to spend a single penny on interior Sindh the dictator of last decade was an ethnically sick man too , he gave them free hand to plunder Sindh's rights , they want martial law so that they should re start their looting game, they are still doing the same but now seems to change their mind due to problem they are feeling with current government is they do not want Sindhis to come to Karachi.....as they did during Swat crises, they fail to hide their true face when issue comes to other than a particular ethnic group comes to Karachi...they have inducted thousands of their workers illegally in various lucrative government posts , with out legal qualifications and fake degrees ..WHY NOT OUR TV CHANNELS SALHEEN ANCHORES AND HYPER CONSIOUS JUDICIARY TAKES SUO MOTO NATICE OF TARGET KILLING IN KARACHI AND THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE INDUCTED AT HIGHER POSTS BULLDOZING THE RULES AND WITH FAKE DEGREES.....why Not 12 May carnage on the arrival of Same chief Justice is being investigated by a SuoMotto...!!! Why Not MUSHARAF is being Charged for tyranny For Last COUPE and 12 years of illegal rule. By a set of SUO MOTTO.!!!
There are many elements in our Society equally corrupt but no one is thinking about them, only onus is on current government , what they dont know is may be there comes an in house change but it will be for limited time and same campaigns will be run against politicians again just to reach ultimate goal by pushing Pakistan again in darkness of Martial Law for another decade...!!
Their is huge corruption is our Bureaucracy , their legal perks and undue expenditures is huge burden on this poorest country's tax payers, regardless of their status as civil or Military they are huge curse on economy, with rise in ranks they cause huge indent in national budget if counted, there is accountability an check on expenditure and now what we spend to save them , many of them do not purchase a Tab. Paracetamol from their own pocket but claim billions of medical expences in fake billing , even a relatively new department, who earns sizeable money and is lable one of the most honest rather unusually honest institute of this country is no exception , there is paramount corruption in that department but most of that done legally as white collar crime and full documentation,but they will kick out an honest Officer who never claim a single perk but same department left him to die when he or she has Cancer for dying penny less.....This is shame less action , How can be that department free of corruption when it can not help its own honest , straight forward and sincere employee, that department is quoted as only honest department by international donors and its models are being replicated, lot can be proven and a lot is done behind the closed doors as legal right.
Education and Health is most neglected sector economically , we never gave priorty to them, our priorties are Nuclear bombs, submarines and aeroplanes for every tom, dick and harry on higher seats

Pakistan Bait Ul Maal engulfing Mentally ratarded children's centre!!!!!!!!

& its unjustified holdings of Special Children's Abodes....!

PBM under Mr. Zammarud Khan is doing better than its past Chairmen but what Mr.Zammarud Khan is not realising that they have unlawfully occupied purpose built centers of Special children and their presence and encroachment policy is destroying an already corrupt and in efficient system meant for Mentally and other wise retarded special children. Currently financially sound and resource full Pakistan Bait ul maal is holding two buidlings of Hearing Impaired children and Mentally retarded children Hostels, since last ten years, they have enough means and resources to build their own buildings but due to bad intentions they have not even thought on this seriously, what is worser, is that in a country where resources are meager and misused , the employees and chairman of PBM spends millions on renovation of their offices and vehicles!!, Prior to democracy , coveted post of Chairman Bait ul Maal was always hold by Army Officers but they always stuffed their coffers than to serve the needy..last Chairmen use to spent millions on renovation of his Office that also reported to be six monthly fixture!!, things have changed a bit with arrival of democracy and Mr. Zammarud Khan as Chairman PBM, he has opened his doors and Bait ul maal's funds to wards needy and for people in need , regardless of their political or ethnic affiliations, but what Mr Zammarud khan is not realizing is that his organizations has not only encroached and blocked the facilities made for Special children in Pakistan but they are unlawfully encroaching upon purpose built facilities for these help less special children !!
The Special Education centers and system is under same Ministry as Bait ul Maal , these centers were purpose built for Special Education and Special people with personal interest of than Dictator Mr Zia ul Haq. Due to his daughter as she was Hearing impaired for her education and rehabilitation he developed interest in welfare of Special persons, he made a Department with same name in early 80s and merged it with Education Ministry, than it was attached to Health Ministry for some time and finally it was attached to Ministry of social welfare , Women development and Special education, again Women development was separated in Musharaf era to fix his cronies as minsters , Now it is Ministry of Social welfare & Special education.
Although we as PARENTS have many reservations on inefficiency, faulty education system and inhuman behaviors of teaching and administration staff in those centers but even than there is always a room to improve , if these children have facility of their own but it seems an Organization as power full as bait ul maal has set eyes on the buildings of helpless Special children than only GOD can save our children.
Special Education centers are scattered all over Pakistan, they are being administered by NGOs, Provincial and Federal Governments, largest share is by Federal Government which initially had planned to have a center of some disability at Divisional levels but now it has changed plans to make an integrated center at each district, currently some 102 or more centres all over the country, while at Provincial capitals have state of art centre of excellence s of multiple disabilities. At Islamabad we have purpose built, centre of excellence of almost all disabilities like a very Big and spacious center now called “National Special Education Center for Hearing impaired children(NSEC for HIC)” in Sector H/9, Islamabad, than “National Special Education center for Mentally retarded Children(NSEC for MRC).” in Sector H/8, Islamabad. There are other centers for Physically Handicapped children in Sector G8/ & for Visually impaired children in Sector G-7 too.
Due to inefficiency of management and teaching staff who rule the system of Special education, first two centers & their inbuilt hostels were still vacant, during Musharaf era they were captured with the help of corrupt bureaucracy. First Hostels of NSEC for HIC in sector H/9 was taken over ,simultaneously they needed building for Head quarters so they encroached upon Hostel building for Mentally retarded children which was being used partially by Mentally retarded children, they were immediately evacuated and building was captured literally by Biat ul Maal, at that time they promised to vacate as soon as possible when their own building will be ready but bad intentions were made clear with in days when they did extensive remodeling and renovations to suite their needs..!
We are members of Parent Teacher associations of those both centers, we did protested at that time to management but no one heard our plea, worst effected center is the center of Mentally retarded children where they have reduced a very fine purpose built building to a few class rooms now, First Bait ul Maal took over the Hostel which we intended to use for students from far away areas,We had arranged the finances under PTA (Parent teacher Association) of that center but suddenly that center's half building was first handed over to VREDP a small department under Special Educationdirectorate, than Hostel made for Mentally retarded children was suddenly handed over to “Bail-ul-Maal”, in last couple of years has seen few of most corrupt Officers ruling over DGSE (Directorate General of Special Education), one was Mr.Khalid Naeem a social welfare officer in Social welfare Ministry but Jumped in to Special education when this department was established and through his crooked manipulations he rose himself to the coveted Post of Director General of Special Education (HIS antics can be subject of a separate letter or letters)!!
During his period as DG, department not only lost its efficiency and professional touch but due to his massive corruption in all areas he hit unrepairable blows to Community of Special children, created rifts between Teaching and professional cadres, destroyed to fabric of coherence in department, conducted massive corruption to make his House in Bahria Town(or Houses) , he made his cronies Directors and deputy Directors at DGSE (Directorate), he was man from inside, he should have protected his honest and committed staff and should have saved the centers of Special children , rather than he gave three rooms of Mentally retarded children to an NGO (Mile stones) to an already reduced school building which was taken over by Bait ul Maal , it was further handicapped by giving three more rooms to Mile stones (they are using black mailing techniques, forging millions from donors, doing only paper things and illegally using utilities to make things worse for financially handicapped Mentally challenged students and their center). Mr Khalid Naeem is said to be involved in embezzling millions from central purchase system he devised and in construction of housing society at Islamabad and construction or up gradation of centers he suggested all over the Pakistan. WE Request Constitution of Inquiry Penal by High Court Judge and Request HONORABLE PRESIDENT, PRIME MINSTER of PAKISTAN, Minster of Special Education and above all Chief Justice Of Pakistan to take stern action against Khalid Naeem (EX-DG SE), and to vacate all Special education building illegally held by Ministry it self, Bait Ul Maal and MILE STONES immediately!!
Bait ul Maal has not only occupied Boys Hostels of Mentally retarded children and Hearing impaired children and blocked the way for further extension of purpose built facility, in near future they again captured the three class rooms which were force fully vacated by administration on the orders of DG and Secretary Special education & Social welfare !!
More than pain full is that Bait ul Maal is an organization set to help desparate people but they are cruelly encroaching facilities of Handicapped children, latest development is that silently they have made walls and started building a complex for their officers on the Play ground of Mentally retarded children, that area is earmarked for Agro therapy project for Mentally retarded children and a part of area where “Special Olympic Pakistan is trying to build a Squash, Badminton and Volley ball courts” for Special children of this center. Knowing these facts & with the help of Secretary Special education & Social welfare who has allowed them without any logic(there is logic of personal greed) to built an office complex on the Play ground of Special (Mentally challenged children).
Through this Letter to your erst while Newspaper we want to request President, Prime Minster and Chief justice of Pakistan to immediately interfere and halt illegal construction on our children's health & recreational facility and immediately order to Vacate the School buildings from Mile Stones, Bait ul Maal & Ministry of Social welfare and SpecialEducation and also to investigate corruption charges against Mr.khalid Naeem (Ex-DG) and current Officers involved in recruitment process (they openly sold seats under past and present DG's era) also to question current Secretary that How many offices he needs for himself , he has established an office at Lahore ,his home town so that he can stay there for three days a week and now he want to establish an other office in Mentally retarded Center to further reduce school size to a KHOKHA!!
WE again appeal to all concerned to interfere immidiately other wise we have to block roads and offices of DG/ Secretary and Minster of Special Education....!

Tetanus MENANCE in PAKISTAN

aLTHOUGH Tatanus is almost eradicated from civilised world but it is yet a big menance in Pakistan..daily scores of young children, newborn babies and field workers who get pricked by some nails, or brushed by rusted iorn needles lying in the fields, thrown by quacks or hospital workers care lessly contract Tetanus to un immunised people..and vast majority of them die due to pain full seizures caused by toxin of Tetanus....most of ladies give birth to children at their homes , umblical cords are cut by an old fashion scissors or blade (used)..this is the 21 century we are living in Pakistan, where ventilators are not available in every hospital even where controlling fits is not in knowledge of many doctors, and in a country where Drs can announce to attendants that this is incurable...?? Lives are lost and only one in 10 victims is lucky to survive..God Bless those who inject faulty vaccines...and sell costly immunoglobulins which every one can not afford.!!

Burden of shame !

We talk more and do nothing, we have a very big Ministry of Social welfare & Special Education where only paper kingdoms are built and they flourish too but across the dream oceans!!!!
In 30 years of its inception they have failed to curb issues of social and moral ethics, they have a vast net work built but it is only wastage of paper, tax payer’s money and resources!!
In last thirty plus years they have built and running some 100 centres of Special education and strangely it is only department where Teachers are given selection grade for gossiping and fan fare they attend in the name of duty , the whole empire is erected on the expense of poor & special children , I will write in detail the in side out stories but some other time.
Ministry of Social welfare & Special education has two big Divisions including several sections ,one big Directorate of Special education and other is social welfare wing with its separate DG and many directors and a huge empire of Bait ul Maal.
Social welfare is supposed to take up issues regarding all social evils and arrange, research and create solution for their curb.
What they are doing and their performance is a very big and debatable issue today I want to point out towards an other disturbing ,humanitarian crises which pinches me daily when I cross in to Rawalpindi from Islamabad or vice versa.

We can easily see the hordes of young masculine and
feminine she males and eunuchs on every road halt in the Rawalpindi and they just mushroomed in past two or three years, before them, these Road points (CHOWKS) were covered by the families of wanderers , mostly small girls and boys and than young adolescent teen aged girls, just started gathering there and these points become commercial hub of activities for small flower sellers, wind screen cleaners and beggars, demanding few rupees on one pretext or other ! Than some smart girls started gracing the road halt, they earned hefty sums daily by just standing on one chowk or other of Murree Road.
Than suddenly these He-males and She-males started appearing in hordes and they pushed the girly workers to far corners on the road in front of us, daily commuters on the Murree road!!!
Every body knows who are they and what they do despite asking for money from the road users, there are at least

hundred of them on the crossings from Islamabad to Rawalpindi to Committee chowk, because they are afraid from Islamabad police so they don’t come to Islamabad but at each entry point from Islamabad they have displaced ladies who use to have Qabza on these points.
One of them is Anjuman who doesn’t look like Anjuman from any corner of her body except from her thighs and protruding abdomen ,she has a husky masculine voice , an other Resham, than there are Sridevis, Madhuris, now a days Katrinas and Reemas, following the names of bolly wood and lolly wood chicks!!
obviously they do not have begging as their only trade and these names are not their original names , these are identities given by their Gurus !!
History of eunichs is as old as mankind it self , they started with birth of human beings because we are always at risk of producing genetically abnormal children , they are either abnormal sexually or they are born with the mind of a male in female or vice versa and history is full of such characters and specially Islamic history is full of them.
If we will see the past of great Mughals, umaids, Abbassids, Ottomans and all other great dynasties they have personal body guards and attendants in their harems called “Khawaja Seras” and some of them became so influential in these Muslim dynasties that they have changed Rulers at will and were main figures in side political intrigues of palaces of our great Muslim rulers.
Traditionally in sub continent when Moghals gave way to Britishers of East India company , in initial days of Raj, gora sahib also kept these Khawaja seras as their personal attendants but with time and modernization they also took of f their patronage and only the local rulers and Nawabs kept them as symbol of pride and as tokens of old traditions.
With 1947 whole scene was changed and they had to earn their living by singing on the eve of marriages and child birth across the length and breadth of sub continent.
There can be groups in a city connected to a central Gurus where they live in secluded houses under the patronage of that guru who himself is a senior Khawaja sara , I have seen their “Marhis” in Hala and Shikarpur near our Mohallas, we as children use to make fun of them when they came to Bazaars or on some local child birth functions, but now I regret my being involved in theses acts as a child because I feel as responsible as any one to disrespect the fellow human beings !!
Why they become such, has a scientific back ground as each of us knows we have certain numbers of chromosomes fixed in our body ,when a child is made equal number of chromosomes from male (father) & female (Mother) join in to make a fetus of them one pair is sex chromosomes, one comes from mother and an other from father they are called “X” & “Y” chromosomes, if both chromosomes are X than the child born is female or Girl, but if one chromosome is X & another is Y ,than baby becomes a male , so the genetic formula for a male child is always (XY) and for female or Girls is (XX). Any thing other than that can change the make upof baby , some times in early phase of child’s making at cellular levels in first 12 weeks , hormonal influence, drugs and infections can arrest the normal development of the child and despite being male his appearance can be feminine or vice versa…..some times they chromosomes duplicate and child has XXX inspite of XX , or XXY inspite of XY for being a normal male, these children are born with rudimentary genitals, feminine bodies and masculine bodies in males, there are many syndromes in Medical science which can be identified like Klienfelter’s Syndrome, super female syndrome etc,etc.
These abnormalities in genetic make up can lead to child’s phenotype (physical) appearance but many of them are treatable by plastic surgeries and hormonal treatments.
An other way of making a male in to female or a female in to male is also greatly under practice, when qualified surgeons, endocrinologist ,gynecologists make various operations, hormonal therapies and artificial implants to change the appearance of a man or woman to look like opposite sex.
A lot of normal appearing males or females feel them selves uncomfortable in their original sexes , like a male feels he is not a male , he is comfortable in ladies company and want to be a female, so they undergo these type of operations but after changing sex they can enjoy copulation but never procreate, actually many of them are actually females in wrong body or males in wrong body too.
But what we are seeing on our cities, villages and towns ,many of them are actually genetic abnormalities but also among them many are transvestites (males wearing clothes and attitudes of females or vice versa), or she males ( changed general appearance under hormonal influence & artificial implants) ,medicines allegedly change their appearance to look like opposite sex and Silicon implants make their breasts looks & feel like a women, or same hormones (sex hormones ) can change a woman’s appearance to a male by hair growth and slimming their bodies to male like appearance, these are not completely transformed but half way.
An other crude form of sex change is illegal operations done by some medical practitioner by castrating their male genitalia and after that giving them hormones at least 50% of them die during or after those operations performed in substandard ,hidden places under un sterilized conditions and on the recommendations of local GURU’s by their confident Dr. half of them die due to Tetanus or some other serious infection and sepsis in very miserably, this is being done in Pakistan and India at many places and mostly young boys attached and attracted to lives of Khawaja seras are brain washed and they willingly consent and arrange money for such operations and rituals are performed before and after the success full make over, whole thing is strictly kept secret even if he or she dies.
We are socially inept nation and full of many types of Taboos , we still see homosexuality as disease while science proves it a genetically determined condition, any genetic condition is not disease, social and surrounding environment determines one’s personality up bringing , we are afraid to talk on issue which is endemic to our every town, village, city or Mohalla !! Hundreds of children and adolescents are raped daily willingly or un willingly in length & breadth of Pakistan.

Its high time to take many issues in to account including ones we called taboos.. like our able ministry of Social welfare and Special education should take the rehabilitation of those unfortunate human beings in to their list of beneficiaries, its high time now that we start taking serious note of plight of fellow beings.
A media campaign should be run in print & electronic media for general public awareness, that if a child should have abnormal genitalia it should be examined by an expert Pediatrician and child surgeon many of these conditions after genital and genetic examinations can be modified and many of them can live a comparatively normal life.
All children regardless of sex and status screened for atleast 10 diseases which is practiced internationally ,that will drastically reduce our rate of mental and other disabilities, NA should pass the regulations in this regard and every new born should be screened in first month of his life and every new born should be seen by Pediatrician and his or her genitalia should be examined.
All Pregnant ladies should be examined routinely for fetal developmental abnormalities and they should have right to terminate pregnancy if the child has gross malformations and his future life is heavily dependent , his parents should have right to terminate that child legally.
All fetuses and new born should be genetically examined for occult syndromes.
First step in the right direction will save many lives and will reduce not only our populations of handicapped, which is unfortunately one of the highest in the world , also will decrease the populations of wandering eunuchs.
Also is needed curbs on illegal surgical measures, which are being done by non qualified quacks for sex change , that is crime against humanity, many of the young males(genetically) or females (genetically) does offer huge monies to these under ground quacks and many die after the surgery due to complications of rough procedures and septic techniques, its horrible and pain full death which should be controlled by government.
Those were few preventive measures, this social evil needs curative measures too for that Social acceptance, registrations and equal rights , vocational trainings and respectable jobs are some aspects of therapeutics.
Concerned ministry is authorized to start a pilot project and start today, its never too late for a good deed to do.











Paa..Progera & Pakistan

PAA…..to Taray Zameen par/……..

In Past three or four years I have written for many Papers, for electronic media and on my Blogs on Blogspot, but since yesterday I have signed up for wordpress.com blog, I was unable to decide what to write on that , writing is my passion as is painting and Medicine and Music ..second January has already started and its nearly 4.am….just finished watching an Indian movie “PAA”,…….I have habit of crying while some thing emotional comes up, I love my country very much…why I was crying was not the emotional high drama in the movie but because I am associated with an other failed system where people like me are called fools because we want to correct it be cause I believe America is great because Americans worked hard to do that,,& china is great because Chinese worked hard to make their country and Now Indians are doing the same with same vision and frenzy…perhaps we are still in fetal phase……!
I wrote Taray zameen par when I saw the movie produced by Aamer khan eminent Indian actor & producer….that was not movie review but with reference to that cute flick I explained about system of Disability management and its flaws in my mother land…today when I saw a brilliant performance in an other bollywood flick called PAA…I was shocked to see Amitabh bhachan in the role of Progera afflicted child of 12 years with body of an 18 year old, (ACTUALLY A COPY OF Benjamin buttons story with Indian masala) but movie reminded me that why we are not able to do what Indians can do…we have full net work of institutes in country from divisional levels to sub-div levels may it be a Federal institute with huge budget or Provincial with meager budget or an NGO institution with huge foreign aid…..do they have any progress rather than twisted and fantasized SUCCESS STORIES !!!!!!
Progera is very rare genetic disorder in which body ages so quickly that child dies in early teens if not in his or her, first decade, while Dyslexia was a subject of Taray Zameen par or (STARS SCATTERED ON EARTH)….it’s a very common condition as opposite to first one…very easily manageable and person can attain a very normal life with a little help while Progera afflicted kids are also Very normal when born but their body decays more quickly than any normal physiological life cycle…it quickens every system of body including brain which may be of more than normal intelligence than other kids of same age, in teens usually systems start exhausting like an old man of eighties do ,they may start Diabetes , coronary syndromes, lung diseases , Asthmas, allergies, bone, Liver and spinal problems and decays as senility brings them to normal humans and die early due to physiological causes…
Countries develop due to people with vision and Ideas, alas we have lost that track, we are producing morons in every walk of life , from Politics to fine arts exceptions but are always there.
India is supplying 80 percent of world’s soft ware and 80 percent of us use computer for gaming and porno surfing religiously.
They are like us , same race , same genetic codes and same culture but what lakes in us is commitment and vision.
our state owned education system is totally flopped and private system is also decayed exceptions are always there!!!!
But exceptions can not make a country advance,,,, making a cancer hospital in Lahore and university in Mianwali is a commendable job but it can not change our destiny…making a city ‘s roads, drainage system, Airport & A Cricket stadium can not change our destiny !
A good governance in the one and only developed province is also commendable but it will not change the destiny of my country,…..they are good but myopic visions , it will only make difference when Imran Khan will make a university of same standard in Shikarpur or Khuzdar and Mardan and Shabaz Sharif will agree to NFC award on the basis of Poverty, under development and resource generation , leaving a fraction or a few decimal points in the favor of small provinces will not effect money they are minting from federal divisible pool…… !
Maligning Asif , paying money to rabid media will never benefit my mother land rather than that money should be spent to IDPs of Swat, Waziristan and malakand and above all Cheif justice shouldn’t level the scores and be involve at judicial reforms at micro levels of Tehsil and Districts where the most corrupt institutions are Courts. Even in NRO the beneficiaries were terrorist with murder, hijacking and extortion charges and no one is willing to bother them….why not all of us speak the whole truth and make it our New year’s resolution…
Government should also line their policies in people of Pakistan’s favor than in their own favor… democracy is again under threat and hawks are already out on rampage to destroy it…..most responsible is current political party in government to over come their short comings …not to make base less speeches by over a hundred federal ministers while we can do a good example with only 10 to 20 ministers……!

Who did the carnage on the eve of Ashoora in Karachi and burnt and looted billions worth markets is open secret for karachites does our judiciary has ethical courage to shift focus and CJ take a suo-moto this time to expose the culprits….!!!!
These steps are needed to strengthen society and give oppressed 180millions to have restored their faith in system these few steps can take our country out of self destruction course and change the mentality of those Millions who want to get Pakistan out of managerial mess.
System of Special education started in 1986-87 when a dictator ordered settings of institutions with strocke of his pen because his own daughter was a hearing impaired, since than a long distance has been covered and some disabilites has colleges too but does they really impart education and re habilitation of that level and standard ….they can see inside them…how fake and twitedf their success stories are…each institute is holding most children for more than 20 years especially in two classes of disabilities Mentally retarded and Hearing impaIRED TURN OVER IS VERY NEGLIGIBLE…….IN MR education at back stage because it’s a complex subject and there are over a 100 sub categories in Mental retardation only but in hearing impaired children most of them have a normal brain with Audio switch shut down or blocked, some where in cerebral paths…they are not abnormal they are absolutely normal children with only hearing loss (most of them)..but what to say…..these institutes are churning psychopaths inspite of rehabilitated normal citizens….there is not a single difference in Suicide bombing nurseries and institutes of Special education as both are producing psychopaths , a life long Idiots one with jackets…others with pens……!!

Is it really a classic example of vision deficit?
In a country like Pakistan where most of land basks in 12 hour sun shine, where heat dries every drop of falling water before it touches the land from hands, in larger parts of the country, where almost one fourth of country has round the year, huge wind channels and in its northern parts 100s of kilometers of long channels of water running like a horny mare……! In that unluckiest of the nation its nothing but a curse that its dwellers are dying of scorching heat in the summers and of severe cold in cool winters but there is no Electricity …its nothing but merely a vision deficit and a myopic leader ship & nothing else that we are planning rental power projects, to run on diesel and petrol or gas to kill already comatose nation which can not pay its food and clothing with ever increasing and getting scarce energy bills…..since last two years with democracy in place people are tested on razor’s edge for their passion by our political leaders, they have kept busy whole nation in Terrorism and Price hicking !! Perhaps government believes in controlling population by innovative means say by terrorism, natural disasters and by administrative manipulations that leads to starvation and death!!…. Keeping their agenda abreast they have taken all eatables out of reach of poor and they are fast taking them out of reach of middle income groups also so that Pakistan which is 7th highest populated and fastest growing nation in world ,its growth can be controlled by two prong method killed by Terrorists and with famine. There was a joke in past that in a dictators time water shortage hit high when people complained that there is no water even for Drinking purposes, the dictator leisurely replied “what a fool you are? Why don’t you drink Pepsi in place of water!” and a very recent dictator has given famous verdict about nation’s progress defying all international indicators shamelessly that in Pakistan every one has cell phone & cell phone is luxury in developed world so we are also a developed nation!! According to him Pakistan should be in G-8 & after our inclusion it should be named “G-9” Nation !!!
An other sarcastic remark was given by a philosopher Minister on the shortage of sugar that every one knows sugar causes Diabetes and many other illnesses so its better Nation should stop taking sugar !!!
This attitude reflects vision of our leaders so it is not strange when the minister for water and power is insisting to Rental power projects atleast they will save their next seven generations from any hardship for that they have no sympathy for the nation and their hardships today.
Pakistan is one of the most gifted nation in the terms of resources we have unlimited resources to tap ,if American state of Texas which is more bigger than Pakistan in area can be electrified by Sun light and wind power than what is the reason we can not, Sun light is most clean and renewable form of Energy today’s technology has miraculously developed the batteries which are more efficient and most clean than were in the past.
The second natural source for energy is wind power and we have 1700 long coastal line from Makran to Badin and inland from Thatta to Jamshoro & from Jamshoro to Kirthar range of mountains where strong wind blows all the year round and what we have to do is to harvest that natural gift by putting wind turbine on those lines for that we don’t have to import any thing we already make world class Fans in Gujrat and Gujranwala and our engineers are not so dumb !!
An other source of cheap energy is water which runs with speed in our northern areas and there are 100s of smaller, medium and large size channels in which water runs like horny mares as I already mentioned ,what we have to do is to put turbines on the way to produce hydel power from these natural resources !!!!
These and other projects like Bio-Gas are nothing knew to our think tanks ,there is an other big and cheapest stock of Thar coal which is natural and world’s largest deposit of Coal in Sindh ,if 70% of INDIA and other many countries of world can produce their energy from coal than why shouldn’t we?
A rough estimate about Thar coal is that it is more than double than combined oil & gas reservoirs of Saudi Arabia and Iran !!
And we can get free energy for our domestic and industerial purposes for next four or five hundred years !!! It is just left for your imagination that how much we will save and how much our industerial growth will benefit from just that one project alone!!!!
In past two years we have deteriorated in every sphere of life and living, our exports are declining as duration of load shedding is ever increasing, we have never seen such a huge power shortage in our lives, I do not remember load shedding in winters, what was hugely promised by Minister for water and Power is a matter of shame for him and he has no reason to continue in office as he has claimed that load shedding will not be after 2009 December !!! But things are rapidly going to wards total black out in near future if we remains in Office!!!
If he had worked sincerely for his claimed goal on Thar coal projects or on Wind turbines or on harvesting Solar energy there had been no problem and shortage of Power in country by now..!!!
It is not only lack of vision but it is clearly a case of bad intentions, corrupt mind set and severe inability which has prevented us to find a solution for current energy crises.

What is needed first is to devise a system of screening at the time of birth for at least 10 most common causes of disabilities which can prevent millions of handicapes to roll out on roads and later on increase populations of beggars or if they get chance to get education and rehabilitation at some federal institute they will end as psycho paths…just a bill is to pass in parliament and sincerely a new born scan in first month of life can prevent million disables.
For serious malformation and genetic disorders we can have fetal scanings and chromosomal studies while in utero…..these two steps only can reduce our disability ratio to minimum.
If there is a will there is always a way to deal the issue this is huge task but we have suitable skill and infra structure we have to stream line our wills and broaden our vision in available resources we can change the whole scenario of disability management but remember we need vision to act wise other wise we will keep raising disables may they be physical, mental or more dangerously psychological and today they are every where in society with bombs and pens…….saim

Independence caused worst trauma to sindhis which any nation can have , as their economy and trade flied away in the name of sindhi Hindues, they are world's solid economic community and INDIA's back bone today, than people who came and filled the vaccume in place of learned, honest and sincere to their mother land Sindhis, came a flock of people most of them illiterate, belonging to lower middle and middle class mainly from poor class in the search and hope of GOLD MINE called Pakistan, sionce last sixty plus year they are Sindhis but they never felt themselves at home , never tried to mix with natives, most of them never tried to learn sindhi and they concentrated them selves in Port city and industerial and trade Capital of Pakistan, although they may feel them selves at home but they dont feel they are sindhis they are Beharis, Ups, Madrasis first than Pakistanis and remotely sindhis..History is very painful, sixty plus year old Pakistan is already amputated, just torn apart by Bad managements, Martial Laws, illitracy, poverty, out of reach inflation,Terror, ethinicity, corruption, political polarization of nationalities and beyond that people (Leaders) not sincere to their country, most suffering nation among the Pakistanis are sindhis, they have lost control on their own soil, its deeply polarised in urban and rural, Last 20 years Sindh has been deprived of Education and Social settings they have lost land to others remaining are quickly eaten by salt and climate change, every year water is going lesse and less into sea and lesser to soil and crops are drying up.
Sindhis have pseudo leaders they are puppets at the hands of Establishment , they are PEERS, Waderah or Popular Party Leaders mushroomed due to rampant corruptions, they are always ready to kill sindhis on the instigation of their bosses, last 10 years a Dictator ruled The Pakistan and in those ten years social balance and power balance of Sindh totally changed it went to Ethnic party of urban immigrants, for ten years there was no development work done in sindh interior and urban except in Karachi, they systematically disloged sindhis from all key posts in Sindh's capital and sindh Sectariate, police etc, not a penny spent on any devlopment work in sindh, than Nazim system of basic democracies introduced by Musharaf also paved way and opened new avanues of corruption in sindh, it gave new jobs and power at basic levels to lanlords and Peers in sindh and all over Pakistan, same people who were in power at centre or provincial levels they now ruled at district and tehsil level through teir sons or cousins or cronies and at every step they took what ever money available to their accounts.
After Ten years democracy came to Pakistan and sindh and mostly Sindhis voted for PPP due to Love and affection of Bhuttos and due to death of BB.they wanted a change in system , restoration of their basic rights, Education to their children and devlopment ion their abodes, but what they have got now, a more than handicapped Cheif Minster, A huge chain of corruption from top to bottom, No development at any levels and bribe at every step, Sindh is not suffering from bombed terror as NWFP and Punjab is suffering up to some extent but Sindh is suffering from dual economic sufferring a seige from urban sindhis and looting from their own leader ship in Power.They have failed to give any relief to opperessed nation but they use Sindh Card to keep Political pressure at others when their corruption is being exposed at all levels and by certainly biased media up to some extent but media is not as much biased as they are corrupt !!!
already dying SIndhi nation, its language and culture is being used shamelessely by leaders to play with sentiments of Sindhis recently celeberated SINDHI AJRAK & TOPI DAY by rulers and their helpers in sindh was a pure joke to Sindh and Sindhis.
Does they really care for sindh, How many schools are revived in sindh, does their hospitals standard other standards are at par with Punjab !!! did they tried to open jobs (Selling job,postings and promotions), did they started any macro or micro projects of development in Sindh at any level in past two years?
Did they tried to reduce debit of sindh from Centre?
Did they have any efficient mangement as at least Punjab has a very agile and sincere Cheif Minster and he is sincere to his home land , compare it with Sindhi CM who scantly drinks or uses water and is true to the core a sindhi Peer and wadero, always intoxicated with bhang !

KILLING IN THE NAME OF ALLAH

again its Eid times, times to show Allah how much we love him and how good muslims we are!
and that we show by sacrificing millions of innocent animals in Pakistan only if we count Muslim population around the world and make a survey that how much animals are sacrificed at that one to three days of EID...we will come to know its exact count, only in Holy sites while Hajj isperformed its ritually right to sacrifice animals other wise Hajj is not complete...we will come to know that many trillions are spent on animal slaughter just one to three days and made God happy...this ritual is going on since Hazrat Ibrahim sacrificed his dear son in the name of ALLAH, but it was replaced by an other innocent animal...since than we do this ritual...but beauti of Islam is that it can change with times..today many high class and respected Ulema should sit and do Ijtehad so that inspite ogf killing animals same amoiunt should be collected and spent on Human development in Muslim countires and their health and education sectors or in the sectors where we lag behind but ritual at the Hajj should remain same and meat collected should be sent to poor Areas of muslim world and distributed among them who can not afford Meat eating......its thinking time and to save Earth we should save our animals and by that way Bio diversity of our planet.....

There are only 43 Politicians BUT more than 10 times beaurocrats !
Since this government came in to power , it has created more chaos for it self than any one else, their bad management tactics, poor handling of various sensitive issues and rampant corruption allegations again on one person and his coterie, has caused damage to its reputation. People gave votes to the party due to Z.A.Bhutto and Benazir’s Party but unfortunately untimely , questionable death of BB, changed the format and values of party, with party in the hands of Mr. Zardari ,he who was already a controversial figure in Pakistani politics got at the helm of affair and party revolves on the fingures of Asif zardari, what he did and way he acted on the death bed on BB , he got sympathies of people and he timely diffused firing temper in sindh.
At the soyem of BB , he told News men that his Prime Minister is Makhdoom Ameen Fahim ( second to BB in Party.) but in coming days and months he changed his statements more than he changed clothes and ultimately he nominated Jilani sb. but not after humiliating Makhdoom of Hala, in whole game badly.
Than came issue of Judges where he made promises to Nawaz Sharif to restore them as soon as they will take the government but than he changed his statement, He signed Bhurbhan accord and with in a few days he said the accord are not verses !!!
These things show his personal credibility and in a few months he turned from Hero to Villain in the eyes of his allies and very vocal acid media of Pakistan. He has forgotten that he came to Pakistan as a result of a deal between him and Shaheed BB.
Very loyal members of PPP. like Aitezaz Ehsan was given show cause notices by party Sec. Genera & humiliated very and often , on the directions of party chairman !!
He has deserted Nahid Khan and Senator Safdar Abbassi , very close couple to BB and not only them, any one near BB was shown outer door . opportunists & corrupt people were surrounding him.
Next move from him shocked many was his self decision to contest for office of President, no one sincere to PPP, will have supported him but many remained silent in central executive committee, his allies like Muslim league (N) also show displeasure.

He came to presidency only to save his skin from NRO related immunity which he will get in Presidency. President did not learned any lesson from past , he is still surrounded by people who are famous for their past and are on senior positions again, some people were freshly brought by President as his close allies and are openly asking for money and gratifications, some were no thing and just in two years they have turned billionaires.
In Capital stories of ruling party and their corruption are topic of street gossips.
All these things were not important if government has tried to solve water, power and other utilities crises , since they acted foolishly in judges cases which they had to restore after people’s pressure. That had damaged their reputation enormously , after that one after one, issues surfaced like Flour crises, sugar crises, Mauling of Petrol & diesel prices, and so many issues which gave pain and problem to a common men but in return government members earned billions of rupees.
An other bad impression of media and common men was induction of non political & no entities to many important posts in presidency and Government.
SOME close family members of President were acting as de facto President, same is with Prime Minister , but as president is hunted due to his person, friends and family and he was already under media micro scope so he got more backlash. One of his close friend Dr.Asim was holding post of Petroleum ministry , while he is no where political person, an other one is Political Advisor of President , no one knows him and was a Dr. at Landhi Jail ! His friend ship with President has lead him to this highly sensitive(lucrative) post and he has made safe future of his next ten generations. Mr. Asim was removed by Prime Minister after he made many Bags and lockers full but he was removed from just one post he is still holding many posts due to President’s friend ship.
Close Family members of President also did his name shining in just few months, even ministers and parliamentarians has to salute madam before entering in House of Lords.
An other issue which gave bad name to Zardari sahib was handling of Carry-Lugar bill which irked politicians and Military elite equally, media of Pakistan is furious against him due to past and present mistakes he has committed as I have already written two years back the BIGGEST reason of Zardari’s reputation is his being SINDHI also. In NRO only 30 + politicians were inducted out 8048, remaining are beaurocrats civil and few military, while in real one General is equal to 100 Zardaris. Only few PPP politicians are in NRO list while more than 7000 cases were of MQM.
Names issued showing one sided and myopic attitude of Media it self.
In this country 100s of Big Industrialists, politicians and landlords have taken 1000s of billions of loans from Banks and co-operatives but no one talks about them , every other scheme announced by builders is fake and they repeatedly and regularly ran away with billions but no one runs campaigns against them as did media against Zardari & PPP since his elevation to president’s Post.
Army franchise is legally earning billions each month, they get monopoly on businesses of choice, they get price less land by hook or crook but no one speaks about them in media !!!!
Military entrepreneurs is untouchable.
Mohatir Mohammed said I just controlled corruption at highest level because smaller level corruption doesn’t harm my or any other country!!
10 years of Musharaf had dented Pakistan’s economy badly but it continues after him !!
What ever alleged through NRO is past but what is hurting is not past and at highest level 50 to 80 croses for posting price is openly asked by confidentials, people take the names of highest officials!!
President’s company has purchased Land worth trillions in Islamabad and taken billion of rupees in Bank loans by the influence of office.
What their cronies are asking for lower order postings and transfers is also enormous by our standards.
One person I knew from last so many years in Islamabad , he used to smoke other’s cigarettes, he roams the city in Mercedes new model, have a posh mansion in a VIP Sector of Islamabad, one day I met him in front of a book store he told me “to bring a project and make some money I will give you special favor for old time’s sake!! Leave your morality behind Dr., do some thing for your kids!!” I just smiled and didn’t answer. seeing puzzled look on my face, he got wrong impression , so he ordered me “Project should be more than 20 Crores , we don’t entertain less than that “ still I was smiling on his offer but I asked “why?” , “because less than that will not warm our pockets”………. I has wondered and had a blank look on my face !!! One and half year back this man use to ask for cup of tea, few rupees and use to ask for one cigarette.
HUE & cry on NRO is due to past corruption but what about new and on going wave of plunder which is going on since last two years…!!

It was a nice autumn morning of Quetta, when Aslam Mirza woke up as usual in his sprawling mansion where he lives now a days with his partner for life khadija & one maid servant, he has been living in this city since he was five and came to than a serene town in late sixties with his father and family, he did his schooling here ,his family is settled all over Pakistan, a sister in karachi and one in Lahore, younger son studying in a university in Islamabad and elder in UK for his MBA.
That morning he completed his usual chores ,took break fast,saw headings in local paper and left his home to settle some issues at his Poultary farms behind Airport,his driver came to pick him up and he left his home at 10 Am, his usual time for business, He and his family has friends all over Pakistan in almost all nook & corners ,Baluchistan was his adopted province so he has friends in hardline baluchis to establishment of Pakistan.
Just half an hour after he left his home a terrible news reached his home, He was gunned down along with his driver ,both died on the spot .
Ongoing crises in Baluchistan has played havoc with the lives of people living in Baluchistan since3 the last four Year, it augmented with the death of Nawab Akbar Bugti, problem goes on & on, the history of Baluchistan issue started the day this nation was born.
Pakistan establishment was never comfortable with Baluchis, Baluch chieftains accepted Quad-E-Azam’s invitation to join Pakistan voluntarily provided there Tribal status is respected & not disturbed, baluchistan was divided in to Pashtunes, Baluchis which included Makrani Baluchis and at that time Part of Baluchistan was ruled by Sultanate of Oman i-e areas of Gawadar & Pasni.
Later on Ayub Khan paid sum to release Gawadar and Pasni from Oman but they still have huge influence in these areas.
First insurgency was in 1948 which was done by than Khan of Qalat Mir Ahmed Yar khan which was brutally controlled by Ayub Khan than COAS.
Baluchistan comprises about 44% of land area of Pakistan with 770 Kms, long coastal line but according to Population census of 1998 it makes only 5%of total population of country(6.5Million) with 2/3rd living in rural areas.
Ethnic make up of Baluchistan includes 54.7% Baluch , 29% Pashtune tribes and 7% settlers, Baluch Pashtunes imbalance created by 2 million refugees from Afghanistan has almost destroyed the fabric of Baluchistan and now leaders of Pakhtun khwa Mili awami party demands separate Pashtunes Province in Baluchistan that has caused rift among Baluch and Pashtunes because these refugees posses properties and ID cards and naturally has occupied the rights of Natives & a cause of demographic imbalance.
When Mir Ahmed Yar khan declared State of Qalat as independent in 1948 & refused to merge with Pakistan. Army Garrison in Balochistan was ordered to annex the state and arrest the Khan. Prince Karim his brother started first Armed insurgency in 1948, He was also arrested and imprisoned, in 1958, the army arrested Nauroz Khan triggering guerrilla movement.
Baluchis by nature are free people, they have resisted every move which tried to encroach upon their right and land, by 1963, Pakistan army decided to built new Garrisons in Balochistan as they have successfully caged Sindh, but Baluchis strongly resisted their moves, The Guerrillas led by Sher Mohammed khan Marri established Guerrilla camp over 45000 sq Kms. those guerrillas ambushed convoys and bombed trains, The insurgency came to an end in 1969 when Yahya Khan with drew the one unit scheme.
The Jamiat ulema-i-Islam and National Awami Party in 1972 demanded more rights for ethnic Baluchis in Government, because as a result of 1971 election NAP & JUI made governments in Balochistan which were dismissed by Champion of democracy Z.A.Bhutto and imposed Governor’s rule over Balochistan that move again triggered a wide spread resistance & hue & cry in nationalist factions of Balochistan. This was third insurgency by Balochis against Pakistani establishment it led to killing of more than 5000 Balochis and 3300 soldiers.
The 4th Insurgency continues till to date, it was started when Leader of Jamhoori watan Party Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti along with nationalist Mir Balaach Marri demanded for greater autonomy to province and hold over its resources and also to stop military from making new bases in Balochistan as Balochistan was never a field of battle and is surrounded by friendly countries and provinces, that demand was refused by Pervez Musharaf latest dictator Pakistan’s long Military rulers, he refused to cede to the demands of Baluch people and tried to nip them in the bud, that caused wide spread resistance against dictator’s regime and his nature of killing each with gun, Musharaf ‘s actions are still continued and he is responsible for killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti and scores of Baloch are killed and property worth billions of dollars destroyed since 2005 and still continued.
Policies of Musharaf has caused wide spread hatred and deaths among Baluchis, since than an other issue of ethnic killing is at the highest in Balochistan , specially in Quetta against Punjabi setllers and among ethnic Hazaras , on the average 1 person is killed in Quetta daily may it be a Panjabi, a Pathan or a Hazara but a million dollar question is why a Barbar (punjabi) in Jhatpat, a school Teacher who is also a punjabi in Sibi and a lower order functionary from Punjab in Khuzdar or any other area in balochistan is not killed why it is killed in Quetta only?
Another Bad result of Musharaf’s policies which he persuaded is that moderate sane element among balochis were sidelined , he relied on religious bigots to strengthen its hold in province and root away moderates & used iron hands against nationalist and killing of 80+ Nawab Akbar Bugti is one example of Musharaf’s egoist and apolitical Ghunda style of autocracy .
He illegally allotted hundreds of thousands of acres of land in Gawadar to civil and military beaurocrates so benefiting outsiders at the expense of Balochi people, as they did in Sindh .every one who retired from Military has to get Land in Sindh not a single Sindhi or Baloch has got Lands allotted in Punjab or NWFP since 1947 ? that is why the feel of colonialism is never gone from Sindh and Balochistan.
The military has reportedly sought 11000 acres of land in in Gawadar to construct what it calls a Combined Defense Complex; the other projects in Gawadar will displace 70,000 balochis from their ancestral land.
Musharaf had another project in mind he wanted to sell every available land to his cronies inside and outside establishment, he also sold sindh’s Islands which are vital for biodiversity & for the survival of fish, prawns and mangroves population, He also annouced Soanmiani port in May May 2007 at soan maini , 70 Kms from Karachi, The Balochistan assembly unanimously passed a resolution against ports construction but brute continued so that like HUB Soanmiani should also become property of MQM as they had already extended up to Thatta & engulfed hub town in Karachi, now coastal expansion of Karachi towards further Baloch areas was his true wish ,He has time and again proved himself more loyal to linguistic and terrorist organization than their founders!
How much insensitive are our rulers to the sentiments of common men and smaller provinces and their grievances is proven from the facts that Islamabad kept rubbing salts on the wounds of Baloch people , that Balochistan Levies were banned in the Musharaf regime from the most districts of the Balochistan and later on merged in Balochistan Police, that move was widely resisted & created another episode of resentment against the centre because Baloch thought that Levies were familiar with Local customs and traditions and serve the communities well than predominantly Non Baloch Police !!
Military Operations on going since Musharaf regime and past has always caused resentment among locals, this time it added fuel to already worsening situation in baloch youth & commoner. It also caused & triggered interprovincial tension as army is predominantly Punjabi.
In January 2005, military operation was initiated to suppress the armed protests by tribal militias ,consisting mainly of tribes men following the gang rape of a Lady Doctor Shazia Khalid on Jan.7.2005, allegedly by an Army Officer and accomplice!!
In December 2005 The full scale Army operation following the firing of eight rockets at a para- military base outside Kohlu, which is a strong hold of the Marri tribe during Musharaf’s visit to the area on 14th December 2005, Paramilitary troops started aerial bombardment at Kohlu on 17th December, 2005, they claimed to fire at strong holds of militants but by the mid June 2007 it was in international and national reports that 400-500 innocent Baloch people were killed in those operations by that time.**
According to Baloch Nationalist Party (Mengal) which is popularly known as BNP-Mengal group on 12,December 2006 that at least 3000-4000 Baloch youth were in custody of Pakistan’s intelligence agencies.
Thousands of Balochis were imprisoned and tortured and killed by eight year long repressive regime of Musharaf and in 2006 than interior minister admitted to have around 4000 Baloch in custody!!!!
Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, the head of JWP was killed in an army operation on august 27,2006 and his sons were not allowed to inherit his property and funeral was allowed in controlled and shrouded way, it flame a wide spread simmering hatred against federation in to a volcano against centre and Punjab.
Saleem baloch was arrested in February 2008 and remained in custody for eight long months ,he is Senior vice President of JWP, in 2006 crises group reperted courtesy HRCP numerous incidences of intimidation, arbitrary arrests, torture, disappearances and Extra judicial killings in Balochistan , incidences were markedly high in Balochistan than any other part country they reported 92 total disapearances in country and Balochistan share was 69 out of that in Jan 2006 and in December 2006 report was 242 total disappearances country wide among them Baloch share was an alarming 170 !!
Baluchistan remained most neglected in the post Partition era while Bengal and sindh also share same view, but it was most marked during Zia & Musharaf’s regimes, no concrete measure were taken during the floods and cyclones during June-July 2007, Death toll 180 in July and it has risen to 420 in September.
Using the National Disaster Management’s data , a local NGO, RDPI has portrayed a very dismal & heart breaking portrait of relief efforts of government, according to RDPI there were only seven relief camps in whole Baluchistan in June and July ,while sindh has 108 camps, though the Baluchistan was more hardly hit !!
During that emergency over 5000 villages in Baluchistan and 1400 in Sindh were badly hit, losses in Baluchistan were amounted to 417million dollars , about 5000 roads were washed away in Baluchistan alone.
Because of its faulty design the newly built and much projected Mirani dam flooded vast areas in Turbat, Naseerabad, Kharan and other southern districts of Baluchistan.
Baluchistan has never been financially independent despite its huge natural resources and reservoirs and 700 kms long productive coastal line, fisheries and ship breaking industry, if only fish industry were developed in past 63 years Baloch were financially independent, it has large reservoirs of Natural Gas, minerals, coal, and oil some tapped, some trapped and some yet to be found , Balochistan produces country’s 40% energy requirement but some years back most of Baluchistan were without gas facility and large areas import energy from neighboring Iran despite the fact that their Gas is pumped to whole country, 80% of province energy needs are met from biomass energy !!
Till recent months Baluchistan was receiving only few rupees (Rs 38/Million BTU) on royalty of its huge Gas supply in comparison to royalty given to Sindh (140) and Punjab(80-190/M. BTU in PKR). Despite another fact that job to Baloch youth are banned as per policy on their gas fields!!
Baluchistan is heavily in debited to centre and its debit has reached to some 417million $s, it drastically reduces the already scarce financial resources for development, on the contrary it receives very meager amount from federal divisible pool which is still being shared on the basis of population alone not on the basis of need and area or on the basis of income generated, so Punjab the most developed and industrialized , educated and most resource full gets 53.36 % from federal divisible pool while Baluchistan gets only 5.11% and Sindh gets 23.71% while it gives centre 72% of income.
Social indicators of Baluchistan are also drastically poor according Ministry Of Finance it has lowest Literacy rate country wide, fewest education institutions and lowest ranking in gender parity index, the average literacy rate in age 10 and above is only 36 %!!
According to multiple cluster survey conducted in 2004,over 3/4th of females and 2/3rd of males over age 12 were literate compared to national percentage of 52%, according to survey one quarter of districts in Balochistan have their female literacy rate in single figure! Dera Bugti has only 2% female literacy rate and its lowest in country !!!
Poverty levels are also alarming in 2003 it was 41-47% in Province while national average is 35.71% according to white paper on budget 2009-10.
Health facilities & facilities of clean drinking water and sanitation are a dreamily scarce in a province who is 44% of Pakistan’s land, only 35% of children gets full immunization and its EPI survey report, Infant mortality rates and maternal mortality rate is comparable to least developed areas like Somalia.
According to a youth development survey young people of Baluchistan are twice less likely to get jobs in comparison to their Punjabi counterparts and federal quota of Jobs goes mainly to Punjabis , even seats of Baluchistan are occupied by Punjabis on the domiciles of Baluchistan in centre and in Baluchistan on bogus documentation.
Only 25 % percent of rural population of Baluchistan gets electricity even in this electronic age ! It has meager means of communication too, it has 22ooo. Kms of metallic and shingled roads but province gets very little amount for their maintenance.
The centre is treating Baluchistan it is a culture medium for hatred , Baloch have every right to ask for remedies and immediate actions to redress their grievances from rest of Pakistan, its sane and very vocal new born media, its intelligentsia and its political & democratic government and forces to redress their issue immediately and stop army action in DeraBugti- Kohlu areas and priority development in these and other areas of Baluchistan , Establishment of Pakistan should see the writing on the wall, killing, arresting and torturing innocent and vocal political activists is not the answer to the question.
What was done in East Pakistan should never repeat in Baluchistan, we should learn from past and our mistakes, otherwise we should not blame on other to interfere in our internal affairs.
Long we have proved a sore thumb to little provinces and to our neighbors we have re think and re draft our long standing, dictatorial policies internal and external, now its time to change those policies, maybe we need a new constitution based on social justice and equality to all members of federation otherwise writing on the wall is clear and it is blocked and looks green only to color blind!!

It was a nice autumn morning of Quetta, when Ali Jan afandi woke up as usual in his sprawling mansion where he lives now adays with his partener for life khadija & one maid servant, he has been living in this city since he was five and came to than a serene town in late sixties with his father and family, he did his schooling here ,his family is settled all over Pakistan, a sister in karachi and one in lahore, younger son studying in a university in Islamabad and elder in UK for his MBA.
That morning he completed his usual chores ,took break fast,saw headings in local paper and left his home to settle some issues at his Poultary farms behind Airport,his driver came to pick him up and he left his home at 10 Am, his usual time for business, He and his family has friends all over Pakistan in almost all nook & corners ,Baluchistan was his adopted province so he has friends in hardline baluchis to establishment of Pakistan.
Just half an hour after he left his home a terrible news reached his home, He was gunned down along with his driver ,both died on the spot .
Ongoing crises in Baluchistan has played havoc with the lives of people living in Baluchistan since3 the last four Year, it augmented with the death of Nawab Akbar Bugti, problem goes on & on, the history of Baluchistan issue started the day this nation was born.
Pakistan establishment was never comfortable with Baluchis, Baluch cheiftans accepted Quad-E-Azam’s invitation to join Pakistan voluntarily provided there Tribal status is respected & npot disturbed, baluchistan was divided in to Pashtunes, Baluchis which included Makrani Baluchis and at that time Part of Baluchistan was ruled by Sultanate of Oman i-e areas of Gawadar & Pasni.
Later on Ayub Khan paid sum to release Gawadar and Pasni from Oman but they still have huge influence in these areas.
First insurgency was in 1948 which was done by than Khan of Qalat Mir Ahmed Yar khan which was brutaly controlled by Ayub Khan than COAS.
Baluchistan comprises about 44% of land area of Pakistan with 770 Kms long coastal line,but according to Population census of 1998 it makes only 5%of total population of country(6.5Million) with 2/3rd living in rural areas.
Ethnic make up of Baluchistan includes 54.7% Baluchis, 29% Pashtune tribes and 7% settlers, Baluch Pashtune imbalance created by 2 million refugees from Afghanistan has altmost destryed the fabric of Baluchistan and now leaders of Pakhtun khwa Mili awami party demands separate pashtune Province in Baluchistan that has caused rift among Baluch and pashtunes because these refugees posses properties and ID cards and naturally has occupied the rightsof Natives & a cause of demographic imbalance.
When Mir Ahmed Yar khan declared State of Qalat as independent in 1948 & refused to merge with Pakistan Army Garrison in Balochistan was ordered to annex the state and arrest the Khan. Prince Karim his brother started first Armed insurgency in 1948, He was also arrested and imprisoned,in 1958, the army arrested Nauroz Khan triggering guerrillam movement.
Baluchis by nature are free people, they have resisted every move which tried to encroach upon their rightd and land, byu 1963, Pakistan army decided to built new Garrisons in Balochistan as they have successfully caged Sindh, but Baluchis strongly resisted their moves, The Guerrillas led by Sher Mohammed khan Marri established Guerrilla camp over 45000 sq Kms.those guerrillas ambushed convoys and bombede trains, The insurgency came to an end in 1969 when Yahya Khan with drew the one unit scheme.
The Jamiat ulema-i-Islam and National Awami Party in 1972 demanded more rights for ethnic Baluchis in Government, because as a r4esult of 1971 election NAP & JUI made governments in Baluchoistan which were dismissed by Champion of democracy Z.A.Bhutto and imposed Governor’s rule over Balochistan that move again triggered a wide spread resistance & hue & cry in nationlist factions of Balochistan. This was third insurgency by Balochis against Pakistani establishment it led to killing of more than 5000 Balochis and 3300 soldiers.
The 4th Insurgency continues till todate, it was started when Leader of Jamhoori watan Party Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti along with naqtionalist Mir Balaach Marri demanded for greater autonomy to province and hold over its resources and also to stop military from making new bases in balochistan as Balochistan was never a field of battle and is surrounded by friendly countries and provinces, that demand was refused by Pervez Musharaf latest dictator Pakistan’s long Military rulers, he refused to cede to the demands of Baluch people and tried to nip them in the bud, that caused wide spread resistance against dictator’s regime and his nature of killing each with gun, Musharaf ‘s actions are still continued and he is responsible for killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti and scores of Baloch are killed and property worth billions of dollars destryed since 2005 and still continued.
Policies of Musharaf has caused wide spread hatred and deaths among Baluchis, since than an other issue of ethnic killing is at the highest in Balochistan , specially in Quetta against Punjabi setllers and among ethnic Hazaras , on the avarage 1 person is killed in quetta daily may it be a Panjabi, a Pathan or a Hazara but a million dollar question is why a Barbar (punjabi) in Jhatpat, a school Teacher who is also a punjabi in Sibi and a lower order functionary from Punjab in Khuzdar or any other area in balochistan is not killed why it is killed in Quetta only?
Another Bad result of Musharaf’s policies which he pursueded is that moderate sane element among sbalochis were sidelined , he relied on religious bigots to stregthen its hold in province and root away moderates & used iorn hands against nationalist and killing of 80+ Nawab Akbar Bugti is one example of Musharaf’s egoist and apolitical Ghunda style of auto cracy .
He illegally allotted hundreds of thousands of acres of land in Gawadar to civil and military beaurocrates so benifitting out siders at the expence of Balochi people, as they did in Sindh .every one who retired from Military has to get Land in Sindh not a single Sindhi or Baloch has got Lands allotted in Punjab or NWFP since 1947 ? that is why the feel of colonialism is never gone from Sindh and Balochistan.
The military has reportedly soughted 11000 acres of land in in Gawadar to construct what it callls a Combined Defence Complex, the other projects in Gawadar will displace 70,000 baqlochis from their ancestral land.
Musharaf had another project in mind he wanted to sell every available land to his cronies inside and outside establishment, he also sold sindh’s Islands which are vital for biodiversity , fish and mongrooves population, He also annouced Soanmiani port in May May 2007 at soan maini , 70 Kms from Karachi, The Balochistan assembly unanimously passed a resolution against ports construction but brute continued so that like HUB soan Miani should also become property of MQM as they had already extended up to Thatta & engulfed hub town in Karachi, now coastal expansion of Karachi to wqards further Baloch areas was his true wish ,He has time and again proved himself more loyal to linguistic and terrorist organization than their founders!
How much insensitive are our rulers to the sentiments of common men and smaller provinces and their grievances is proven from the facts that Islamabad kept rubbing salts on the wounds of BAloch people , that Balochistan Levies were banned in the Musharaf regime from the most districts of the Balochistan and later on merged in Balochistan Police, that move was widely resisted & created another episode of resentment against the centre because Baloch thought that Leveies were familiar with Local customs and traditions and serve the communities well than predominantly Non Baloch Police !!
Military Operations on going since Musharaf regime and past has always caused resentment among locals, this time it added fuel to already worsening situation in baloch youth & commoner. It also caused & triggered interprovincial tension as army is predominantly Punjabi.
In January 2005, military operation was initiated to suppress the armed protests by tribal militias ,consisting mainly of tribes men following the gang rape of a Lady Doctor Shazia Khalid on Jan.7.2005, allegedly by an Army Officer and accomplice!!
In December 2005 The full scale Army operation following the firing of eight rockets at a para- military base outside Kohlu, which is a strong hold of the Marri tribe during Musharaf’s visit to the area on 14th December 2005, Paramilitary troops started aerial bombardment at Kohlu on 17th December, 2005, they claimed to fire at strong holds of militants but by the mid June 2007 it was in international and national reports that 400-500 innocent Baloch people were killed in those operations by that time.**
According to Baloch Nationalist Party (Mengal) which is popularly known as BNP-Mengal group on 12,December 2006 that at least 3000-4000 Baloch youth were in custody of Pakistan’s intelligence agencies.
Thousands of Balochis were imprisoned and tortured and killed by eight year long repressive regime of Musharaf and in 2006 than interior minister admitted to have around 4000 Baloch in custody!!!!
Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti, the head of JWP was killed in an army operation on august 27,2006 and his sons were not allowed to inherit his property and funeral was allowed in controlled and shrouded way, it flame a wide spread simmering hatred against federation in to a volcano against centre and Punjab.
Saleem baloch was arrested in February 2008 and remained in custody for eight long months ,he is Senior vice President of JWP, in 2006 crises group reperted courtesy HRCP numerous incidences of intimidation, arbitrary arrests, torture, disappearances and Extra judicial killings in Balochistan , incidences were markedly high in Balochistan than any other part country they reported 92 total disapearances in country and Balochistan share was 69 out of that in Jan 2006 and in December 2006 report was 242 total disappearances country wide among them Baloch share was an alarming 170 !!
Baluchistan remained most neglected in the post Partition era while Bengal and sindh also share same view, but it was most marked during Zia & Musharaf’s regimes, no concrete measure were taken during the floods and cyclones during June-July 2007, Death toll 180 in July and it has risen to 420 in September.
Using the National Disaster Management’s data , a local NGO, RDPI has portrayed a very dismal & heart breaking portrait of relief efforts of government, according to RDPI there were only seven relief camps in whole Baluchistan in June and July ,while sindh has 108 camps, though the Baluchistan was more hardly hit !!
During that emergency over 5000 villages in Baluchistan and 1400 in Sindh were badly hit, losses in Baluchistan were amounted to 417million dollars , about 5000 roads were washed away in Baluchistan alone.
Because of its faulty design the newly built and much projected Mirani dam flooded vast areas in Turbat, Naseerabad, Kharan and other southern districts of Baluchistan.
Baluchistan has never been financially independent despite its huge natural resources and reservoirs and 700 kms long productive coastal line, fisheries and ship breaking industry, if only fish industry were developed in past 63 years Baloch were financially independent, it has large reservoirs of Natural Gas, minerals, coal, and oil some tapped, some trapped and some yet to be found , Balochistan produces country’s 40% energy requirement but some years back most of Baluchistan were without gas facility and large areas import energy from neighboring Iran despite the fact that their Gas is pumped to whole country, 80% of province energy needs are met from biomass energy !!
Till recent months Baluchistan was receiving only few rupees (Rs 38/Million BTU) on royalty of its huge Gas supply in comparison to royalty given to Sindh (140) and Punjab(80-190/M. BTU in PKR). Despite another fact that job to Baloch youth are banned as per policy on their gas fields!!
Baluchistan is heavily in debited to centre and its debit has reached to some 417million $s, it drastically reduces the already scarce financial resources for development, on the contrary it receives very meager amount from federal divisible pool which is still being shared on the basis of population alone not on the basis of need and area or on the basis of income generated, so Punjab the most developed and industrialized , educated and most resource full gets 53.36 % from federal pool while Baluchistan gets only 5.11% and Sindh gets 23.71% while it gives centre 72% of income.
Social indicators of Baluchistan are also drastically poor according Ministry Of Finance it has lowest Litracy rate country wide, fewest education institutions and lowest ranking in gender parity index, the average litracy rate in age 10 and above is only 36 %!!
According to multiple cluster survey conducted in 2004,over 3/4th of females and 2/3rd of males over age 12 were literate compared to national percentage of 52%, according to survey one quarter of districts in Balochistan have their female litracy rate in single figure! Dera Bugti has only 2% female litracy rat eand its lowest in country !!!
Poverty levels are also alarming in 2003 it was 41-47% in Province while national average is 35.71% according to white paper on budget 2009-10.
Health facilities & facilities of clean drinking water and sanitation are a dreamly scarce in a province who is 44% of Pakistan’s land, only 35% of children gets full immunization and its EPI survey report, Infant mortality rates and maternal mortality rate is comparable to least developed areas like Somalia.
According to a youth development survey young people of Baluchistan are twice less likely to get jobs in comparison to their Punjabi counterparts and federal quota of Jobs goes mainly to Punjabis , even seats of Baluchistan are occupied by Punjabis on the domiciles of Baluchistan in centre and in Baluchistan on bogus documentation.
Only 25 % percent of rural population of Baluchistan gets electricity even in this electronic age ! It has meager means of communication too, it has 22ooo. Kms of metallic and shingled roads but province gets very little amount for their maintenance.
The centre is treating Baluchistan it is a culture medium for hatred , Baloch have every right to ask for remedies and immediate actions to redress their grievances from rest of Pakistan, its sane and very vocal new born media, its intelligentia and its political & democratic government and forces to redress their issue immediately and stop army action in Dera Bugti-Kohlu areas and priority development in these and other areas of Baluchistan , Establishment of Pakistan should see the writing on the wall, killing, arresting and torturing innocent and vocal political activists is not the answer to the question.
What was done in East Pakistan should never repeat in Baluchistan, we should learn from past and our mistakes, otherwise we should not blame on other to interfere in our internal affairs.
Long we have proved a sore thumb to little provinces and to our neighbors we have re think and re draft our long standing, dictatorial policies internal and external, now its time to change those policies, maybe we need a new constitution based on social justice and equality to all members of federation otherwise writing on the wall is clear and it is blocked and looks green only to color blind!!
