Part of Problems: working in Pakistan
Perhaps working in public sector in Pakistan is most difficult Job on the globe..! if you are honest, technically sound, know your job and its all requirements than you are fooooooooool, if you are out spoken and can defend your ideas about plight of disabled being "rehabilitated" under you and you want to rehabilitate them professionally to increase turn over , so that more and more kids can be accommodated and more opportunities could be created, Staff and teacher's professional acumen could be updated or corrected ..you are double fool..!!
you are insulted, mauled and given threats to personal and private levels by all who are who is who so I am always at risk in this system of inefficient, inept and loossely born creatures called colleagues and Officers at my work place...but Now it has been 22 years in Toto..working with them still surviving beside being in eyes of storm always.Even I survived first bout of Cancer !!! so I lost my remaining fear too... I want to work for them (Disabled) write what I want to from my heart..and will continue try to educate people & dissiminate information about Civil and Civi right common Pakistanis till alive..Pray for me.

TEACHING TOLERANCE
Teaching Tolerance!!
With unfortunate murder of Mr.Salman Taseer Governor of Largest province of Pakistan, has opened many questions for our society & me as a person and member of this maddening society..!!!!
Although we are living in the era of intolerance, bigotry and sectarianism but hi- profile murders of “VVVIPs” shock every one , I went to my bank in blue area Islamabad around 3Pm , my kids were with me I picked them from school and have to go to bank because it was nearly closing time. There was some procession coming from opposite direction from National assembly building ,it was huge and lining both sides of avenue, people carrying red flags and chanting slogans for their demands, it took us thirty minutes to cross over and reach our destination, I got free in some 15 to 20 minutes and went back to hospital to pick my wife and her mother whom I dropped earlier to pay visit to some ailing relative in hospital, we picked them and went home, after reaching there , we got a call from my brother , I was talking to him when my wife told me to come inside TV lounge from balcony , when I came in ,it was flickering on TV screen that governor killed in attempt of murder , few minutes after that, it was clear that he was attacked by his body guard who inserted some 20, 25 bullets in his body, he didn’t run away , very calmly he gave up and surrendered him self !
News was shocking but more shocking was motive of killer who claimed that” He did his duty as he was Gustakh-e- Rasool (Pbuh) !!! So he punished him”, I was shocked on his statement more than murder it self…!, I was never fond of Mr. Taseer but I will really acclaim his courage and the way he took stand against the law which is used more to set scores than for the sake of saving pride of our Prophet , I have doubts against the sincerity of those who are on roads in that issue, mostly innocent minority people are being implicated and punished through this law than real culprits! On the contrary Islam is most tolerant religion in the world and our Prophet (pbuh) was most tolerant person on the earth , he never said a word to a Jew lady who use to throw trash on him, one day when she could do the same He himself went to her house to inquire about her health!!! Do we believe that he will be happy on what we are doing in the name of religion and blasphemy!!!
I am not concern with investigations and their results but what disturbs me is maddening intolerance in our society, which has been injected by military dictators and mullahs just to seek their motives and keep themselves ruling in the name of religion, I was brought up in interior Sindh and in the society where everyone respected other’s religious and political views, I was told that never intimidate any one on the basis of religion, language, personal and ethnic basis because these are seeds of hatred which never wipe!!
I have in my very close friends circle Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Shia, sunni and members of all other sects and community groups, so is the way of life among my friends and people who live in interior of Sindh, even today in most parts of Sindh people celebrate Muharam and other religious and cultural events together or atleast respect each other’s beliefs, but since 80s when I went to Medical College in Hyderabad, I felt an strange kind of tensions among locals and non locals, Sindhis and Mohajirs, Sindhis and Punjabis and so on so far…it intensified when General Zia took over, he used religion as tool to keep him in power, he created an ethnic group in Sindh just to make Rural and urban divide, than he jumped in to Afghanistan to make Americans happy, with American came the new phenomenon of Jehad (holy war), over night hundreds of thousands of new Maderrsahs came into existence to recruit, train and fight the holy war , millions of dollars were injected in those religious missionaries with CIA and American aids, Zia continued to use religion , he was most hypocrite and used religion as façade ,he changed the fabric of society specially in Punjab and then North western province, during Afghan war and at that time Iran went through revolution too and that revolution created support among Shia elements in Pakistan and other Muslim countries too, Iran revolution was used as another threat by our religious bigots as they trade on hatred they create in innocent illiterate citizens. Zia cashed on this anti shia elements too and created a deep divide in our society. The process than started has gone through lot of ups and down in last three decades, our involvement in creating Jihadist nurseries and fuel Afghan war against a super power for other super power has rendered us intolerant and highly sectarian, We are unable to listen, see or hear a single word of dissent !
We as a Muslim are not an isolated element in today’s world and we are not only intolerant nation, there are deeply intolerant communities in western democracies and in United States of America too, who fuel Muslim sentiments on face book and other web sites or they announce to burn Quran, they are not isolated incidences but wide spread network on world wide web where Muslim sentiments are openly hurt and their governments do nothing, there are double standards in that so called tolerant and developed world too.
Every year many books are banned in United states of A and most of them on the basis of hurting Christian sentiments! ! written by other Christians, but they never tired to curb anti Muslim sentiments !! in United states there is deep rooted hatred against Jews too but Jewish lobby is economically strong so these sentiments and hatred can only be perceived in local societies when you are living among them, same is true in many European countries, Germany has its own neo-Nazis and other ethnic bands….!
Just a few days back a short documentary was aired on BBC television showing the plight of newly converted British women , who converted to Islam in recent past, they were not only abandon by their families but they are facing worst kind of hatred by their own society and families, interestingly rate of conversion to Islam in Europeans is higher than anywhere else and 4 out of 5 converters are ladies and they are fully practicing and wearing Hijab on their heads and are adamant on their newly adopted religion and its practices..same is in France, Germany and other EU nations.!!
French Parliament has passed bill to prevent Muslim women for wearing Hijab!!
There are thousands of such examples in west but what we are going through is worst kind of intolerance , disease which was just a seed in 80s is now a huge jungle which is everywhere in this society , we have to combat it on war footings not only in our homes, Offices, cities, villages, mosques, Schools and madersahs , this is time to start preaching tolerance like a dictator preached intolerance and hatred among all cadres of our society we have to preach in reverse to root out this evil which is now trying to take over whole society with Gun and suicide bombers.
Most of the Pakistani society is being projected as medieval, bearded ,religious fanatics by western media, just to malign our silent ,democratic and tolerant majority and incidents like murder of Salman Taseer as the latest or brutal killing of Benazir at the hands of unknown but speculated religious elements or burning of houses of Christians in Gojra villages and many many incidents of religious intolerance and target killing are actually hatred against religious or sectarian intolerance which has reached its highest peak…! IF WE WILL SIT DOWN OR JUST TAKE CANDLE RALLIES TO SHOW OUR CONCERN ,will be grievous mistake , these elements are out to destroy our very fabric of our society and they are everywhere, it is duty of us all to preach and teach intolerance to our colleagues and to our children and society, Governor was killed by its own Body guard , which means these elements are in our own ranks , files and homes we have to make mission to eradicate this menace from our society itself.
If we can do start from now than we will need at least three decades in future to take these elements out of our society, if we will see to government to take steps and do it on our behalf than we are mistaken, we have to do this on our own with the help of government, civil society, NGOs , media and every section of our society than this will bear fruit in coming years, not in days, this is a long and hard fight which we have to fight with our brains, our dealings and with our own secular characters , no one can eradicate this from our souls which are severely polluted, most of Pakistan is illiterate and easily captured by determined elements with wasted interests, religious, political and sectarian or ethnic sentiments are very easily exploited by trained and sharp minded people so they are doing this according to plan.
In this incident we have witnessed exploitation of religious sentiments by a certain section of our religio-political segments which culminated in this heinous, broad Day light murder of a sane and secular element by a state functionary..I will request all sane, Muslims of my nation that no one can change the status of Our Prophet (Pbuh) from us and God has committed to save the pride and status of his friend than who are we to kill and burn others, just think for a moment our Prophet (pbuh) and holy Quarn has ruled killing a human most condemnable sin, why we are doing this in their name. Please think.

I am not concern with investigations and their results but what disturbs me is maddening intolerance in our society, which has been injected by military dictators and mullahs just to seek their motives and keep themselves ruling in the name of religion, I was brought up in interior Sindh and in the society where everyone respected other’s religious and political views, I was told that never intimidate any one on the basis of religion, language, personal and ethnic basis because these are seeds of hatred which never wipe!!
I have in my very close friends circle Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Shia, sunni and members of all other sects and community groups, so is the way of life among my friends and people who live in interior of Sindh, even today in most parts of Sindh people celebrate Muharam and other religious and cultural events together or atleast respect each other’s beliefs, but since 80s when I went to Medical College in Hyderabad, I felt an strange kind of tensions among locals and non locals, Sindhis and Mohajirs, Sindhis and Punjabis and so on so far…it intensified when General Zia took over, he used religion as tool to keep him in power, he created an ethnic group in Sindh just to make Rural and urban divide, than he jumped in to Afghanistan to make Americans happy, with American came the new phenomenon of Jehad (holy war), over night hundreds of thousands of new Maderrsahs came into existence to recruit, train and fight the holy war , millions of dollars were injected in those religious missionaries with CIA and American aids, Zia continued to use religion , he was most hypocrite and used religion as façade ,he changed the fabric of society specially in Punjab and then North western province, during Afghan war and at that time Iran went through revolution too and that revolution created support among Shia elements in Pakistan and other Muslim countries too, Iran revolution was used as another threat by our religious bigots as they trade on hatred they create in innocent illiterate citizens. Zia cashed on this anti shia elements too and created a deep divide in our society. The process than started has gone through lot of ups and down in last three decades, our involvement in creating Jihadist nurseries and fuel Afghan war against a super power for other super power has rendered us intolerant and highly sectarian, We are unable to listen, see or hear a single word of dissent !
We as a Muslim are not an isolated element in today’s world and we are not only intolerant nation, there are deeply intolerant communities in western democracies and in United States of America too, who fuel Muslim sentiments on face book and other web sites or they announce to burn Quran, they are not isolated incidences but wide spread network on world wide web where Muslim sentiments are openly hurt and their governments do nothing, there are double standards in that so called tolerant and developed world too.
Every year many books are banned in United states of A and most of them on the basis of hurting Christian sentiments! ! written by other Christians, but they never tired to curb anti Muslim sentiments !! in United states there is deep rooted hatred against Jews too but Jewish lobby is economically strong so these sentiments and hatred can only be perceived in local societies when you are living among them, same is true in many European countries, Germany has its own neo-Nazis and other ethnic bands….!
Just a few days back a short documentary was aired on BBC television showing the plight of newly converted British women , who converted to Islam in recent past, they were not only abandon by their families but they are facing worst kind of hatred by their own society and families, interestingly rate of conversion to Islam in Europeans is higher than anywhere else and 4 out of 5 converters are ladies and they are fully practicing and wearing Hijab on their heads and are adamant on their newly adopted religion and its practices..same is in France, Germany and other EU nations.!!
French Parliament has passed bill to prevent Muslim women for wearing Hijab!!
There are thousands of such examples in west but what we are going through is worst kind of intolerance , disease which was just a seed in 80s is now a huge jungle which is everywhere in this society , we have to combat it on war footings not only in our homes, Offices, cities, villages, mosques, Schools and madersahs , this is time to start preaching tolerance like a dictator preached intolerance and hatred among all cadres of our society we have to preach in reverse to root out this evil which is now trying to take over whole society with Gun and suicide bombers.
Most of the Pakistani society is being projected as medieval, bearded ,religious fanatics by western media, just to malign our silent ,democratic and tolerant majority and incidents like murder of Salman Taseer as the latest or brutal killing of Benazir at the hands of unknown but speculated religious elements or burning of houses of Christians in Gojra villages and many many incidents of religious intolerance and target killing are actually hatred against religious or sectarian intolerance which has reached its highest peak…! IF WE WILL SIT DOWN OR JUST TAKE CANDLE RALLIES TO SHOW OUR CONCERN ,will be grievous mistake , these elements are out to destroy our very fabric of our society and they are everywhere, it is duty of us all to preach and teach intolerance to our colleagues and to our children and society, Governor was killed by its own Body guard , which means these elements are in our own ranks , files and homes we have to make mission to eradicate this menace from our society itself.
If we can do start from now than we will need at least three decades in future to take these elements out of our society, if we will see to government to take steps and do it on our behalf than we are mistaken, we have to do this on our own with the help of government, civil society, NGOs , media and every section of our society than this will bear fruit in coming years, not in days, this is a long and hard fight which we have to fight with our brains, our dealings and with our own secular characters , no one can eradicate this from our souls which are severely polluted, most of Pakistan is illiterate and easily captured by determined elements with wasted interests, religious, political and sectarian or ethnic sentiments are very easily exploited by trained and sharp minded people so they are doing this according to plan.
In this incident we have witnessed exploitation of religious sentiments by a certain section of our religio-political segments which culminated in this heinous, broad Day light murder of a sane and secular element by a state functionary..I will request all sane, Muslims of my nation that no one can change the status of Our Prophet (Pbuh) from us and God has committed to save the pride and status of his friend than who are we to kill and burn others, just think for a moment our Prophet (pbuh) and holy Quarn has ruled killing a human most condemnable sin, why we are doing this in their name. Please think.
